Let us introduce Jacob “Biggin” Sewell of Palm Bay, Florida.

Jacob came to National Training to become a heavy equipment operator because he likes to work outdoors and really doesn’t care too much about the thought of working indoors.  We can’t blame him.  Tied to a desk or working indoors period doesn’t sound to pleasing on those nice sunny days.

Jacob tells us he has a fiancée and two daughters Jade and Elizabeth who are his world and his parents.  All of whom have supported him with his decision to come to National Training.  Prior to becoming a professional heavy equipment operator Jacob used to build boats and also worked in plumbing.

Meet Eric Welsh.  National Heavy Equipment Operators School Graduate of the Month for January 2009.

Eric is from right here in our own backyard…Jacksonville, Florida.  Eric became a heavy equipment operator because it was something he always wanted to do.  With a background in construction prior to attending National Training it seemed like the natural transition.

Eric tells us that his dad and brother are his heroes and his son is his heart and soul and his mother is in his heart at all times.  It seems as if Eric is a very family oriented guy and to hear him speak of his family like this tells a great deal of good things about him.

Tim graduated from National Heavy Equipment Operator School in December 2008 and has been selected to be our featured Graduate of the Month.

Tim has a wonderful family consisting his 3 boy (Alex, age 4, Aren, age 9 and Owen, age 11) and with his beautiful wife Robyn they live in Jacksonville, Florida.

A little more about Tim’s personal background he tells us his mother, Rainy McKee, did very well giving with his upbringing since Tim’s father passed away when he was ten years old… our hats off to your mom.  Tim also has a brother, Shawn and a sister Ranee who is going to be a Doctor.

Shawn has been married to his wife Paula for 24 years and together they have 3 sons, Michael (23), Nathan (22), and Seth (18).  Being together for 24 years shows that Shawn and Paula both have a strong dedication and support for each other.  Congratulations to both of you.

Michael left quite an impression on our instructors.  According to them, Michael came to our school fully determined and eager to learn.  His attitude and focus is what convinced our instructors and staff that Michael deserved special recognition.  Michaels overall GPA = 98.6 -  Impressive by anyone’s standards.

Meet Andrew Garth from Martinsburg, West Virginia

Andrew was selected by our staff to be the featured graduate because he displayed such a great attitude and did so well while he attended training here at National Heavy Equipment Operators School.  All of the instructors think very highly of Andrew and believe if he maintains his calm positive outlook he will go far in this industry.

Coming to this school wasn’t Andrew’s first contact with heavy equipment.  Andrew’s family owns and operates a rock quarry in Jamaica where he first came into contact with these powerful machines.  Andrew tells us he chose National Training in order to learn how to professionally operate all the various types of equipment we offer here at our training facility.

Let’s let Andrew tell you in his own words why he chose a career in Heavy Equipment.

“My interest in heavy equipment began when I was asked to work in my families quarry.  From then on I have wanted to operate heavy equipment professionally.  I want to thank everyone at National Training, my instructors were great!!!  I enjoyed my time here and would tell everyone who is interested in being a heavy equipment operator to take your training at National.”

Andrew’s greatest accomplishment:

“Greatest accomplishments would have to be not being afraid of the machines.  Being able to operate the bulldozer safely and good.  The pond project was great and being a part of this will always be a good memory.”

Here’s what our Lead Instructor, Sam Hogg, had to say.

“Mr. Garth was an outstanding student.  He understood the projects and worked them well with all the equipment.  He had fun working the equipment and I think he will make someone a fine employee some day.”

In closing…
Andrew we must say that it is not easy to be selected out of an entire class full of outstanding individuals.  Congratulations to you once again and please don’t hesitate to update up us from time to time to let us know how you are doing.
