Course Outline

  • Heavy Equipment Operator Program
  • Offered as a full-time format.
  • 60 (ONLINE home-study) lessons. Completion time: approx. 360 hours. All home study lesson are available ONLINE via National Training’s online learning management system.
  • Resident Training completion time: 4 weeks - 201 hours.
  • Total Training Time: 561 hours.
  • Total Tuition for Course: $7795.00
  • Minimum Entrance requirements: HS diploma or GED preferred but applications accepted from persons with at least an 8th grade education, DOT Physical Exam and a Drug Screen.

Course Description:

This program is an entry level training program that prepares individuals to operate heavy excavating equipment.  The types of equipment used for training are bulldozers, tractor/front-end loader/backhoe, wheel loaders, excavators, bobcat mini-excavator and the Bobcat skid-steer loader.  The program is delivered in a combination online distance education/Resident Training format.  There are 60 online internet education lessons consisting of approximately 360 hours.  The resident training is 4 weeks, 201 hours in length (hands-on equipment training). Total training time is approximately 561 hours.
